Monitoring und Gendercontrolling

Equality-oriented quality management is a basic prerequisite for future-oriented and sustainable organizational development. Martin Luther University is committed to creating the necessary structures for the corresponding development of its quality management.

Strengthening gender equality as an integral part of university quality management

The University sees gender equality as an integral part of quality management, which must be taken into account as a cross-sectional task in all process phases (from the formulation of objectives to the implementation of measures and evaluation). In this sense, gender equality and diversity are quality criteria.

Establishment and consolidation of gender controlling

Gender monitoring is part of the Martin Luther University's monitoring  programme. It is currently anchored in the Staff Unit for Higher Education Planning and Information Management via the Gender Controlling project, where it has been institutionalised.

The first Gender Monitor will initiate a system of permanent observation of relevant data. It is primarily descriptive in nature and serves to communicate and visualise the university's gender-specific status quo and for controlling purposes.

This will make it possible to review some of the goals formulated in the gender equality mission statement, recognize changes over time and initiate adjustments. To this end, the Gender Monitor provides an overview of gender compositionat all career and qualification levels in academic, research-supporting and student areas, which is accessible to all those involved in the decision-making and implementation processes. MLU aims to map and visualise the gender dimensions recorded to date.  It can support the sensitisation of gender inequalities.
The Gender Monitor is aimed at those involved in planning, management and implementation processes, equal opportunities officers and those interested in equal opportunities within and outside the university.

Gendermonitor 2021

The Gender Monitor 2021 is split into two parts. One part presents the status quo at the university level, while the second part provides faculty-specific monitoring, which is available only internally. A summary of the monitor's findings, along with perspectives on the potential development of data collection and analysis, can be found in the section "Conclusion and Outlook
